Ridgeline Walk
Ridgeline Walk
Venture into the heart of our stunning nature reserve, where a challenging yet rewarding trail awaits.
Traversing a pleasant mix of bush and forest environments including; kanuka, manuka, beech, rimu and totara, this track climbs to the Skyline ridge, which provides magnificent views of the mountain ranges all the way to the North Island on a clear day.
Making our way up through native forests before emerging at Totara Saddle, we wind our way up above the Happy Valley Stream, along the way seeing some of the changes in the landscape that have occurred after the Kaikoura Earthquake.
Our journey continues to the Ridgeline where, weather permitting, you will be able to enjoy your picnic lunch with breathtaking views.
The scenery shifts as we descend and re-enter the forest below, to take us on our walk back to the Woolshed. If time permits, enjoy an afternoon tea at the Woolshed prior to your departure around 4pm.
