You are welcome to bring your own vehicle, however we suggest this should be 4WD capable as you will cross four small fords on the journey up the Puhi Puhi Valley Road and road conditions that requires good cushioning and reasonable chassis clearance. 

You can also arrange road transport from and back to Kaikoura via our road transport partner Kaikoura Shuttles (www.kaikourashuttles.co.nz)   

Helicopter transfer is quick 14 minute stunning experience and can be organised via our air travel partner Kaikpoura Helicopters (www.gchaviation.co.nz)

Suggested additional gear list for hunting

Rifle (ideally calibre .243 or bigger) fitted with a scope & preferably a suppressor

Please ensure your rifle is sighted in before arriving at Puhi Peaks

Rifle hire is available on our Guided Hunting, for beginners or those traveling without a rifle.

Hearing protection (especially if rifle is not suppressed)

Provision to take your animals/meat home – chilly bin, ice packs, cotton sheets/pillow cases

Tea and coffee facilities are available at the woolshed. Snacks/lunch/drinks are self catered.
